The latest House Price Index from Halifax has revealed that house prices in the last three months to January were 2.2% higher than in the same three months a year earlier, although the annual change in January was lower than in December (2.7%).

The average price of a property in Scotland in September 2017 was £144,924, according to the latest UK House Price Index. This is an increase of 3.1% compared to September 2016 but a decrease of 1.3% compared to the previous month.
Average house prices in the UK have been on a generally upward trend in recent months, but at a more local level prices can be influenced by many different factors.
